Carolina L. 'Carol' Small

She arrived... … born to Ruperto Labro and Demetria Cioco on February 5, 1931 in Manila, Philippines. Carolina was the middle child of three. She Loved... …and married Charles L. Small Sr., and from this union four children were born, Enriqueta, Charles Jr., Julie and Jon. Carolina loved her kids unconditionally. She Lived... …Carolina was very active when it came to the vibrant happenings of the Historic King Lincoln neighborhood in the 1960’s on through the early 1990’s. She enjoyed watching the Mason’s parades and participating in the Elk’s functions. She worked for over 30 years at the renowned “Canabar” located on Long Street in Columbus, Ohio. She was known to many as one of the best bar maids there. Though she was small in stature, Carolina was big in heart. She was a friend to many and often gave whatever she had, to those in need. Carolina was also a traveler. She journeyed to Rio de Janeiro, the Philippines, Mexico, and destinations all across the United States. She was always on the Go! Carolina was fearless and feisty and was known to state that, “God is gonna take care of me!” She transitioned… …on September 18, 2014, in Ahwatukee, Arizona, God took care of Carolina and she went on one last journey! There she was welcomed by her mother Demetria, her father Ruperto, her Husband Charles Sr., two brothers, her sister Enriqueta, her daughter Enriqueta Bivens, and her grandchildren, Shelly, Vicki, Chad, Shad, Glen and Jamar. She leaves to cherish her memory, children; Charles (Carolyn) Small, Julie (Glen) Martin, and Jon Small Sr. Her grandchildren; Talya (Aaron) Horton, Ayanna (Sam) Staley, Marlon, Patrice, Charles III, Richard, Jon Jr., Enri, Jayshawn, Janae, and Zion. Her great grandchildren; Ania, Na’riyah, Darius, Deion, Nella, Brandon and Niyah.
