Carolyn Louise Gilbert White was born December 25, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. At an early age, she moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Linden McKinley High School class of 68’. Later Carolyn obtained several facets of employment to include: Columbus City Schools as a bus driver followed by retired Postal Clerk from United State Postal Service. A dedicated member of the Bible Way Church, she served as a missionary and a Sunday school teacher. Carolyn loved the Lord and would often be heard calling out “Hallelujah” throughout the house. She loved to travel, spend time with friends and offer prayer and guidance of deliverance and salvation to all those who needed. On May 15, 2020, at the age of 69, Carolyn was called home to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delores Gilbert Patterson and George Baker, Jr and sister, Georgetta Chafin. Left to cherish Carolyn’s memory, is her daughter, Roblyn (Darius) Slaughter; brothers Tommy (Alethea) Botts, Michael (Tonya) Gilbert and M. Todd Jackson; her grandson, Cameron (Haley) Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Due to the current public health crisis, Carolyn’s family has chosen not to have a formal ceremony at this time.
