Carrie Evelyn Stewart of Columbus, Ohio made her transition into the presence of the Lord ( 2 Corinthians 5: 8) , on Thursday October 20th at 3:45 pm in her home at the Village of Westerville in Westerville, Ohio. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 5,1920 to Nelson and Emma Jenkins, Carrie was an excellent musical student, and , as a follower of Jesus Christ, she was very active in the community of Columbus, Ohio . She was a Girl Scout Troop leader for many years and followed in the foot steps of Jesus Christ by visiting the sick in hospitals and nursing homes ( Matthew 25:36). She took every opportunity she could to do good to all people especially to those who belong to the family of believers ( Galatians 6:10). She received her ministers license from Elder Clement , a minister in the Columbus, Ohio area. She remained active in several churches in the Columbus, Ohio area until she became ill, teaching and ministering in music to the body of Christ. Carrie was the founder of the ' Kingdom Prayer Band' . This group of women traveled around the city of Columbus, Ohio ministering the prayer of faith to those who were ill. The group also conducted Bible Studies in the homes of those who requested them. Carrie is preceded in her transition into the presence of The Lord by her spouse Edward T. Stewart, her father and mother Nelson and Emma Jenkins, and her brother , Crawford Jenkins. She is survived by her daughter, Janice ( Wilson) Walker, her sons, Harley ( Iva Jean) Stewart, Keith ( Suzanne) Stewart, Darrell Stewart, Barry ( Janice) Stewart. Carrie was blessed to have 7 grandchildren as her survivors, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great - great grandchildren. In addition she has a host of nieces nephews and cousins who who will carry on her legacy.
