Cathalee 'Kitty' (White) Borders

August 12, 1945 — May 27, 2014

Cathalee White Borders was born August 12, 1945 to Ira Mae Baggette White and Amos Jesse James White, Sr. in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was educated at Hocking Technical Institute and was employed by Western Electric. She was also the proprietor and operator of C.W.’s Day Care Center in Portsmouth. In her early adulthood, Cathalee loved her motorcycle club, “The Flames.” She faithfully attended family reunions and was first soprano in the family group, “Celestial Sounds.” Cathalee was avid in the work of the ministry at The House of God, Incorporated and was a faithful and dutiful member of Ephphatha Outreach Ministries. A true humanitarian, she was heralded as a foster parent and her home was always open for housing those in need. In Portsmouth, she was active with Habitat for Humanity and also participated in several youth programs and clothing drives. Some of her treasured moments included dancing with her sister at her 60th birthday party, tasting Indian cuisine and, most recently, celebrating her 68th birthday surrounded by the love of her family. On Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the age of 68, Cathalee went home to be with the Lord while at Wexner Heritage Village. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert A. B. White and Philip D. White, Sr., and sister Sandra K. Lattimore. She is survived by her sons, Jack A. Woodson and Jay A. Woodson; daughter, Moniqua Lynn Davis; siblings, Dr. Amos J. J. White, Jr. (Janice), Carl F. White, Sr. (Sue), Ellen I. Davis, Gerald W. (Annie) White, Georgana Shante’ Hill-Ali (Gerald), Evangelist Henrietta White-Hoard (Ronald), Ralph T. White, Sr., and Daniel L. White, Sr.; eight grandchildren, special niece, Boobee; special friend, St. Mae; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
