Celestine Sills

Celestine McCorvey, accepted the invitation to be with her Savior in Heaven early Tuesday morning, May 15, Celestine received her higher education from North Carolina A T and Franklin University. She found enjoyment in sewing, gardening, interior design and shopping. She worked in local government and served several years as the 4th District Ward Chairperson in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Mary McCorvey; infant daughter Laquetta Sills; Brother, Elvin “Gus” McCorvey. She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, her devoted son, DeRell (Trina) Sills; brother, Charles McCorvey ; sisters, Doris (Willie G – deceased) Hawthorne, Maxine (Charles) Reed; grandchildren, Randolph Sills, and DiMarco Hairston; extended family, Patricia Hairston, Leanne Johnson, Karen (Dr. Francis) Otuonye; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
