Chad Lamont Wood

Chad Lamont Wood was born September 27, 1972 in Delaware, Ohio. He departed this earthly life on April 23, 2017 while residing in Arizona. A 1990 graduate of Worthington High School, Chad was employed by CIGNA, where he worked in the mailroom, and previously worked in the customer service departments at Bank One, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Verizon. Additionally, he worked at Burt's Landscaping. In 2010, Chad relocated to Arizona where he worked as a customer service representative at Macy's, and as a claims adjuster with Ensurance. Throughout most of Chad's childhood, he was involved in Olympic Style Archery. He traveled with his family and competed throughout the United States. Chad was the Ohio State outdoor record holder for several years. He was a gifted bass guitarist and loved developing original musical pieces. He was a bass player in the 1990's with an up-and-coming Central Ohio band called Gumshoe. Chad loved jamming with his friends as a cover band. He was also an avid gamer who enjoyed playing with his friends. Chad was passionate about sports and followed a large variety of events from tennis to Nascar. He was always a faithful supporter of the Ohio teams, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams. From Arizona, he proudly wore his jersey on game days. He cheered on Ohio's professional teams as well - particularly the Browns and the Cavs (Cleveland), Cincinnati Bengals, and the Columbus Crew. It's a guarantee if you had a sports or music question, Chad had an answer for you. His wealth of knowledge will definitely be missed. Chad had a sense of humor like no other. He could make you laugh harder than anyone. It was a comfort to us even on the day he was called home! Chad was a loving son, brother, cousin, and friend. Our lives are forever changed for the gift of loving you, Chadly!!! Chad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edison and Florida Wood. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Manning and Gwinevere Baumgardner; siblings, Lutonda (Eugene), Manning Jr., Gerald, and Faun Baumgardner; niece Cheyenne (Kayel); nephews, DeMarco and Manning III quot;Trequot;; and a host of beloved cousins, other relatives, and life long friends.
