Charles Christopher Miller age 68 departed this life on Sunday, May 1, 2016. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 17, 1948. He graduated from Columbus East High School in 1965, received his BA in Political Science from University of California Davis in 1977, and attained a teacher and intervention specialist certification from the Ohio Department of Education in 2006. Chris had a rewarding career helping others realize their dreams and full potential. Most notably, he was an Employability Prep Instructor and Intervention Specialist at Eastland-Fairfield Career Technical Center and Executive Director at Georgia Tech Corps. He had a passion for technology and enjoyed helping disadvantaged children, students, and adults gain knowledge in technology and Bridge the Digital Divide. He also worked as a supervisor at ATT and Bell, and proudly served 2 terms as a Sergeant of the United States Air Force. Chris was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Kappa Chapter on April 20, 1968 at The Ohio State University and successfully reinstated Alpha Phi Alpha Theta Eta Chapter at University of California Davis. Chris lived a life of determined happiness. He carried out every task with a positive attitude and a smile. His greatest loves were family, music, dancing and education. He was a self-proclaimed feminist and activist, who enjoyed healthy debate and imparting knowledge on young people. He was passionate about games of strategy, evidenced by years as a reigning Risk, Chess, Bid Whist, Domino and Backgammon Champion. Chris is preceded in death by mother, Mary Miller Hall, brother Dennis Miller, and wife Sharon Miller. Survived by father William Floyd Miller, daughter Malikeya Khantrece and beloved stepson Anthony Hurd (Desiree), sister Risa Miller, brother Daryl Miller, grandchildren Elijah Jones, Imani Burke, Mackenzie Hurd, nieces and nephews Nicole Miller, Will Alston, Karimah Farrakhan, Kadijah Farrakhan, and Zakeyla Miller.
