Charles Daniel Ellis Sr. affectionately known as Tiger was born on September 13, 1974 in Columbus Ohio where he spent his entire life. He passed away on January 9, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Charles was a passionate individual who found joy in simple pleasures. He loved bowling, rooting for THE Ohio State University football team, and rooting for the San Francisco 49ers. His culinary preferences were clear-he delighted in meat and carbs firmly declaring his disdain for vegetables. Music was an essential part of his life with Tupac being his favorite artist.
Family was Charles’ greatest treasure. He was immensely proud to be a father to Porshea, Charles, Charlize, Paris, and Brayden. His role as a father and grandfather was his proudest accomplishment, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Charles was fearless, curious, and his kind spirit brought laughter and joy to everyone around him.
In his personal life, Charles excelled as a manager in various occupations, culminating in his role as an office manager in Florida. He was known for his leadership skills and ability to connect with others making a positive impact in every workplace he graced.
Charles had a light-hearted approach to life, often quoting “I woke up feeling the cheesiest coach”, which reflected his fun-loving nature. His favorite TV shows included “Tracker” and Magnum PI new version, which he enjoyed watching.
He is preceded in death by his cousin Christopher Ellis Sr., mother Diana Williams, daughter Charlize' Ellis, uncle Michael Ellis Sr., grandfather Johnnie B. Ellis, aunt Sharon Ellis-Brown, uncle Jeffrey Ellis Sr. and his grandmother Betty Williams Patton.
He is survived by his beloved children Porshea Crowder, Charles Ellis Jr., Paris Ellis, and Brayden Williams-Ellis; grandson Breeze Ellis, aunt Joni Mason, and cousins TaMica Brown, Ashley Mason, Azia Mason McGrady, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Charles will be remembered for his infectious laughter and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, 1370 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205. Burial will process to Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
