Mr. Charles Raymond Greene was born to the union of Stanley Greene and Grace Lowe September 22, 1927. He was received in the arms of his heavenly father November 10, 2013. Charles served in the United States Army from 1946-1949 and was Honorably discharged. He was joined in marriage to Madelyn Pippins, and they were married for 59 years. A union filled with much joy and happiness. Out of their union they were blessed with a beautiful daughter Cherie Greene. Who was the apple of his eye. He was a loving husband and father, and all that met him loved him. Charles never met a stranger, and like his father he could persuade even a statue to talk. He had such a fun loving spirit and would always have you laughing. He loved old movies and history and would often be heard quoting Patrick Henry “Give me liberty or give me death”. He was employed as a packer with Defense Supply Center Columbus, (DCSC), where he was committed to his work and was loved and respected and retired after 30 years. In retirement Charles loved relaxing and sports. He watched everything from football to ping pong. But football was his favorite and the Cleveland Browns is who rooted for. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Grace Greene. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Madelyn Greene, daughter Cherie Greene, brother Stanley M. Greene, sister Phyllis Waugh, special friend Freddie Dansky and a host of other relatives and friends.
