Charlie (Blann) Boffman

Mrs. Charlie Mae Butler Blann Lucier Boffman, age 94, born June 16, 1918 in Americus, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. Charlie Mae was affectionately known as Honey, Mama, and Big Mama. Charlie Mae married Primrose Blann and to their union, four children were born: Harold, Orasby, Dennis, and Lillie. Charlie Mae retired in 1970 and through her retirement, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, and traveling, as well as watching baseball, OSU football games, and Big Time wrestling. She was a longtime member of East Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she attended regularly until her illness. Charlie Mae will be greatly missed. Charlie Mae was predeceased by husbands, Primrose Blann, Charles Lucier, and William Boffman, sons Harold and Dennis Blann, parents Ola Mae and Leroy Whitaker, grandparents, Charlie and Attu Bell Butler, sister Hattie Hughes, brother Harry Butler, granddaughters Monica Denise Blann and Mila Blann, and daughter-in-law Norma Blann. Survived by son Orasby Blann; daughter Lillie Blann Smith; grandchildren, Gregory (Vashti) Smith, Cynthia Underdew, Craig Smith, Hope Blann Brewster, Dennis Blann II, Cecil Blann, Kevin (Lucille) Blann, and Javon Stewart; 15 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild; daughters-in-law Nieda Blann and Mellonie Stewart; sisters-in-law Isadore Forest and Imogene Boffman; and a host of other relatives and friends, including dear friends, Jon Cupp, Mrs. Stickler, Mr. and Mrs. Woody, and Dora Pimento (deceased).
