Charlie Cain Sr

July 1, 1945 — March 8, 2017

Charlie Richard Cain was born July 1, 1945 to the union of Roosevelt and Velma Cain in Clarendon, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Carver High School and moved north to Columbus, Ohio in 1969 with the sunshine of his life, his wife Florida Cain. From that union, they are blessed with four children, Charlie (Junior), Eric, Sharon and Bryant. He began his employment with Buckeye Steel Castings and remained a loyal and dedicated Core Maker and Union Steward with 30 years of service for the company. He was also employed at The Ohio State University Hospital with over 13 years of service. In later years, Charlie was the owner of the Havalain Club where many patrons loved and enjoyed his friendly and humorous manner. He was known to many as a BBQ grill master who also loved to fish, travel with his family, and refurbish small electronics. Charlie also enjoying cheering on his favorite teams, the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes, and taking the neighborhood youth to see the Columbus Clippers baseball games. A very spiritual person, Charlie joined New Birth Christian Ministries and read his Bible often. On March 8, 2017, Charlie Richard Cain was called from labor to eternal rest. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son Bryant, and siblings, Marie, Hal, and Arnette. He will be greatly missed by wife Florida; sons, Charlie Jr. (Betty) and Eric; daughter Sharon; brothers, Roy, Albert, Leonard, and Amos; sisters, Bertha and Patricia; grandchildren, Shakira, Breanna, Tamonica, Rico, Janaris, Vaunda, Kayanna, and Amyre; and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
