Charlotte Ann Jones was born October 30, 1955 in Newark, New Jersey. The eldest of five children, Charlotte was loved and nurtured by her mother, Nancy McHellon, and her beloved Poppy John McHellon. She was educated in the Newark school system, and received her CNA certification. Her passion was always being a help to others. Charlotte achieved this by working in various hospitals and with several prominent doctors in the area. Charlotte received the Lord in the early 1990's. She attended Tabernacle of Jesus, in Newark, under the leadership of Pastor Eddie D. Anderson. As she was born again, her life took on a new meaning. She met Pastor James Dixon and worked alongside him in ministry. On February 15, 1997, when God brought them together in marriage, she became Charlotte Dixon. When her husband's job relocated to Columbus, Ohio, the two of them moved and started their ministry. She worked in various nursing homes in the Central Ohio area. Her compassion for people won her favor among her patients and co-workers. Everyone loved Charlotte's sense of humor and sweet smile. Her last job was at The Sanctuary in Dublin. In addition to working alongside her husband as First Lady, Charlotte was attending Gospel Lighthouse School of Ministry and expected to graduate this year. She was involved in several prayer groups and joined a crochet and quilting class at the Gillie Center. Charlotte loved her church family and will be remembered for showing so much love toward them even while she was chastising them. On Monday, May 19, 2014, at the age of 58, Charlotte peacefully went home to be with the Lord while at The Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. Her biological father, William Jones, preceded her in death. Those who remain to cherish memories of Charlotte include her loving and devoted husband, James Dixon; four sons, Stephen (Brandy) Jones, Ezekiel Dixon, James Dixon, Jr., and Alan Jordan; one daughter, Shanta Jones of Newark, New Jersey; parents, John and Nancy McHellon; three brothers, Marty Jones, Mike Corbin, and Paul (Lisa) Jones; one sister, Felicia McHellon of North Carolina; six grandchildren, DaCraig, Kashawn, Khalil, Tahzmere, Stephen, and Aasad; mother-in-law, Dorothy Dixon; two loving nieces, Aniyah and Ebony; and a host of other relatives, friends, and her extended Tabernacle of Jesus family.
