Charmaine Louise Ward-Brown Was born November 10, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Esper Furray Ward and the late May Hanna Morrow-Ward.
Charmaine left this life January 31, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. Charmaine who was proceeded in death by her five of brothers and two sisters.
Brothers: Vernon V. Ward, (Arlene-Deceased) Clarence Ward (Jennie Deceased). Esper Ward, Jr., Robert Ward, Sidney Ward. 2 Sisters: Betty Adrian Ward-Farwell (George-Deceased), Frances Elizabeth Ward-Mackey (Perry-Deceased) Left in her memory is her brother Carl Ward (Montez-Deceased) of Pensacola, Florida. stepbrothers: Anthony and Richard Young of Detroit Michigan.
She moved from Dayton, Ohio in 1936 with her parents and siblings to Cincinnati, Ohio. in 1948 she joined the United House of Prayer For all People After her membership in Cincinnati where she served as the first secretary and served on various auxiliaries. She served under the pastoral ship of the late Elder Gibbs, Sr. She had always worked faithfully on the fund-raising committees and took part in missionary work.
She graduated from Lincoln Heights high school in 1950. She eventually earned an Associate degree in Theology through the western community college program. She taught Sunday school and collaborated with various community youth programs in the community through the Order of Eastern Star, and many youth summer programs under The Ohio State University. Charmaine received the Presidents volunteer service Lifetime Award for Community Service from President Obama and President Bush’s Administration in 2008. Those who knew Charmaine knew she loved children and loved to collaborate with them. Charmaine’s passion was cooking. Charmaine often worked in the kitchen helping on auxiliaries. In short, Charmaine loved people. She loved to cook for her family and friends,
Especially when fellowshipping and at family events. The Holidays were always special to her. Charmaine married Elder Leroy Kirkland (Deceased) in 1950 she married her second husband John Albert Brown (Deceased) in 1953. She left this life on Friday, January 31,2024 at Riverside Hospital, and leaves to rejoice in her memory her devoted children. Janice Brown Lambert (John). Adolf Brown (Buddy), Shirleyann Louise James (Deceased), Patricia Kirkland-Allen (Norman E. Allen) (Deceased), Wanda Adel Brown-Ross (Eric Ross), Juanita Marion Brown-Wharton (Antonio) (Deceased), Brenda Lou Brown-Lyons (Ronald), April Theresa Decosta, Barbara Ann Kirkland (Deceased), Jerry Kirkland (Deceased). A cousin that was like a daughter, Marzella - Burton Barnes (Greg). 40 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grand Children; and 4 Great Great Great Grandchildren a host of Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, and great great -great Nieces and Nephew. A Great Nephew who she dearly loved hearing from Grand her Great 4 with spiritual music and the word of God. She also loved the everyday company and assistance given to her by her great granddaughter, Cierra Moore. Charmaine was the perfect mother to her children, grandchildren.
She especially loved watching Christian movies, Christian videos, and music with Cierra. Charmaine was very spiritual and had a relationship
with Christ at a very young age. She was a beautiful person, full of integrity, perseverance, determination, and an intelligent woman, wife, mother. and friend. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a pillar of strength to all who knew her.
