Christopher E. Hughes, 55, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Preceded in death by father Oliver Hughes, Sr., brother Keith Hughes, and sister Sharon Hughes. Survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Joyce M. Hughes; sons Christopher (Janeen) Smith-Hughes, Christian Smith-Hughes, and Ishmael Martin; mother Dorothy Hughes; grandchildren Jasmin and Christopher Smith-Hughes; sisters, Yvonne (Ceacle) Reed, Barbara Watson, Nancy (George) Jarrett, and Victoria Hughes; brothers Oliver Hughes, Jr., and Dwight (Beatrice) Hughes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Celebration of Life 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Gospel Lighthouse Church, 600 Frebis Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of service. Dr. Jerry D. Fryar, officiating. Interment Union Cemetery.
