Christopher Lee Long, affectionately known as “Snookum” or “Snook,” was born June 20, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio. He received his academic education in the Columbus City Schools and attended Urbana University. Christopher served in the United States Army and USAR Ready Reserve. After his honorable discharge, he entered culinary arts school and pursued a career as a chef. He knew all about food preparation and catering services and was most recently employed as a cook at Delaney Restaurant in Westerville, Ohio. Some of Snook’s favorite activities were spending time with his family, cooking and barbequing, and watching sports, especially his Seattle Seahawks. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and skating. On October 12, 2019, Christopher passed away in Columbus, at the age of 59. He was preceded in death by his son Marcus Long, father Dave Green, Jr., siblings Dave “Donnie” Green, III and Denise Long, grandmothers Jennie Long and Delsie Green, and parents-in-law Marion D. and William C. McCutcheon. He is survived by his wife Tonrie Long; daughter Christy Long; sons Chris Long and Wendall Long; mother Addie Long; surrogate children, Shakia Mitchell and Marcell Pickens (his nephew whom he helped raise); sisters, Margaret Harris, Margaret “Pebbles” Long, Mericle Long and Jennie Long, Brittany Scott, Seville Green and Nysha Slager; brothers, Anthony Habart, Dalin Green and Micah Scott; sisters-in-law, Celestine, Sheila and Shelly McCutcheon; twenty grandchildren who were the joy of Christopher’s life; many nieces, nephews, cousins, his Bolivar Arms family, and a host of friends, including dear friends, Ricky (Karen) Paige, Robert (Sue) Blair, and Arnise (Cookie) Palmore.
