Clara Belle Robinson was in born in Polk, Georgia October 19, 1928. One of eight children of Charlie & Hattie Mae Robinson to farm 80 plus acres in Georgia. The children of Charlie & Hattie Mae soon started to head north, and Clara did as well, where she met Robert F. Williams and soon married December 4th, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio. Their union of love resulted in their two sons; Robert E and Mark D. Williams, where she devoted her life making sure they wanted for nothing. Clara was a devoted Cub Scout den mother and attended every sporting event and extra curriculum activities her children participated in. There were numerous vacations and weekly outdoor summer movie excursions enjoyed by the family. While caring for her home and raising her children, Clara was an avid bowler and dedicated member of the Golden Hearts community activity club. After 38 years of service to Grant Hospital, Clara retired as an Instrument Technician Specialist with numerous employee recognition and achievement awards. Clara loved her family and she found joy spending time with her nieces, nephews and the special bound she had with John & Geraldine Williams. It was no secret how Clara cherished her grandchildren Mark and Johnathan and often made excuses for their precocious behavior, saving them from the ‘rod of protection.’ Clara will be remembered for her generosity, feisty spirit, and love for her family.
