While in Honduras Warren and Clarence where married. Shortly after their marriage Warren and Clarence moved to Columbus, OH. This was the beginning of a long lasting marriage and the start of a new life. She was employed with: The Circle, a food service worker for Columbus Public Schools and Western Electric. After which Clarence started working for The State of Ohio Tax Division where she retired from. After she retired from the State of Ohio Clarence went back to work part time for JC Penny then to Chase Bank. After 10 years with Chase Clarence went into official retirement. Clarence and Warren where blessed with three children Charles H. Hall, Ruth A. Hall and Herman D. Hall. Because of the biblical principles Clarence was raised under she along with her Mother-in-law Olay May Lloyd made sure that her kids where raised according to the bible. Clarence and Warren along with their children and Grandma all became members of Stewart Memorial CME Church here in Columbus, OH. Clarence was a faithful member of the Stewardesses Board where she served as Vice President. Once she became President of the Stewardesses Board she served more than 10 years at that position. Also, Clarence was a long time member of the Missionary Board. Another reasonability within the church Clarence wrote the church resolutions. One of her favored duties was the reading of announcements during service. After the reading of the announcements she was known for saying: “if you don’t have anyone to pray for you can pray for me” and “govern yourself accordingly”. It was known through her family and some church members that she loved to sing. However she would be the first one to tell you “I know I can’t carry a note”. Clarence was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter in law, aunt, cousin and friend. She had a mild and quiet personality and treated everyone with love and compassion. Within their home she was known by her children as the quiet voice of reason. Because whenever one of them got in trouble she would be the first parent they would go to. To Charles, Ruth and Herman she was the icebreaker in the family but don’t get her mad. During her childhood she learned how to sew and had a passion for it. She taught her very good friend and neighbor Mrs. Murray how to sew as well as her daughter Ruth and most of her granddaughter’s. There was nothing she couldn’t make on her sewing machine. Clarence loved her family and spending time with them. Every summer she and Warren would always make sure they took a vacation and spent time with other family members. She always supported her children and gave them kinds works of wisdom and encouragement to help lift them up. Clarence loved taking her family on fishing and camping trips. When you came off the lake she would have the grill fired up and lunch ready for a family cookout. She was even known for baiting her kids lines and helping take fish off the hook every now and then. Cooking was another passion of Clarence she loved to be in the kitchen preparing meals for her family and extended family. She made sure that all three of her kids could cook prior to leaving home and living on their own. Because she taught her children how to cook and bake her oldest son Charles became a chef and Ruth became a pastry chef. This passion she also taught to her grandchildren and passed down through the generation. Later in life one of Clarence’s greatest passion where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As each generation was born she showed them love and compassion and started training them up for life. Clarence didn’t talk about the Greatest Commandment she lived it and showed it through her actions of LOVE. Her kids would say “mama you didn’t treat me like that when I was growing up” about her grandchildren. Likewise, her grandchildren would say the same thing about her great-grandchildren. Clarence will truly be missed by all that had a chance to meet her and spend time with her. She was the soft spoken backbone of her family as many people would say “the Halls have an awesome family”. Because of her strong faith in God and obedience to His word her conversation would always be about the love that Jesus had for her and her love for her Lord and savior Christ Jesus. Clarence has received her just reward. To God be the Glory! Now her legacy continues through her daughter Ruth A. Hall-Watson, Daughter in law Rachell Y. Hall and son Herman D. Hall (Barbara). Her sister Nava Palmer, sister in law Joyce Davis (James) three very special nephews Joe C. Rose (Jacqueline), Clarence E. Palmer and Jodie Palmer (Eva). Her special niece Laura M. Brown (Robert). Her 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; her Southfield and Berwin neighborhood kids and grandkids. Last but not least Eddie (the house dog) will be missed by her.
