Clemmie Cage, age 80, was born March 7, 1940 in Lorena, Texas. He departed this life on March 13, 2020. Clemmie Cage moved from Lubbock, Texas to Columbus, Ohio in 1964. He was employed as the Maintenance Supervisor with the State of Ohio for 34 years. For many years, he held a second and even a third job providing janitorial and lot surfacing and clearing services. Clemmie found and married the love of his life, Jessie L. Cage. They were married for 53 years and together they raised two sons. The bond they shared was so deep that not even death could separate them. They transitioned into the next life together. Clemmie had great faith in God and an intense love of his family. He valued family above all else. He worked very hard to provide for his family. During his downtime, he was an avid golfer. He played in several golf tournaments and received many accolades. He also enjoyed watching TV, especially sports, and he loved participating in family gatherings that were filled with food, fun, and laugher. He is preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Clara (Cox) Cage, Sr., siblings Willie Cage, Nelson Cage, Jr., Ollie Cage, Tommie Cage, Iris Cage, Farris Cage, and Beulah Cage; grandson Stacy Tuttle; nieces Ollie Jeanne Franklin, Deborah Robinson; and nephew Donovan Cage. He leaves to carry on his legacy sons Clemmie Cage, Jr., Nelson (April) Cage, Sr., Perry (Angela) Cage; daughter Vickie Cage; sister Lovie “Sister” Cage, brother Nathan (JaNette) Cage; grandchildren Phillip Cage, Santwone Cage, Jessica Tuttle, Dontaye Cage, Kadasia (Jessie) Coleman, and Nelson Cage, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren; and host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
