Cleo Patria Keys-Leftwich was born to Wells and Viola Keys on November 28, 1931 in Talcott, West Virginia, where she grew up with her other brothers and sisters. She attended elementary school and later went to Sterling High School in Talcott, West Virginia. She gave her life to Christ at a very early age. Her family later moved to Beckley, West Virginia where she lived for a while. She had one child, Anna Hancock. She later met Curtis Leftwich and they were married and moved to Columbus, Ohio. She worked as a housekeeper and also worked as a homemaker in private homes. She loved taking care of people and provided a place to sleep for many. She loved attending church, shopping an spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wells and Viola Keys; brothers, John, Thomas, James, Dorman, Norman, Edward, Jervis, Billy Keys and Alvis Foust; sisters, Anna L. Johnson and Wanda Ergas; granddaughter, Tina Bitting and grandson, Juan Bitting. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Anna (Thomas) Hancock of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Wilford (Elizabeth) Keys of Lewisburg, West Virginia; sister, Milbur Francis of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Rhondetta (James) Boykins, Sonja (Keigh) Waddell, Carl McGinnis, Gloria, Otis, Charles, Lashonda Bitting all of Columbus, Ohio; step grandchildren, Donna Hancock, Rhonda (Jerry) Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina, Eric (Teresa) Hancock of Indian Land, South Carolina, Troy (Keisha) Hancock of Columbus, Ohio; twenty-three great grandchildren; nineteen great-great grandchildren and nine step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
