Clifton Lee Lighty

Clifton Lee Lighty was born March 4, 1922 to Marie Charles Lighty and Steven Lighty in Columbia, South Carolina. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Clifton was a longtime employee of North American - Rockwell International, where he assembled aviation parts. He departed this life on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his Columbus, Ohio residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Lorraine Lighty, second wife Alberta Lighty, and son Clifton Lighty, Jr. Clifton leaves to celebrate memories of his life, his loving, spiritual wife Mayme Ellis; daughter Sherri Lynn Lighty; son Richard Lee (Anita) Lighty; sister Libby Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Memorial Celebration of Life 2 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the start of service.
