Clifton James Parker, Sr., 89, born August 14, 1924 in Matewan, WV, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014. He confessed a hope in Christ and gave his life to Jesus Christ at an early age. One of the original founders and members of the Mighty Clouds of Joy of Columbus, OH, Cliff was also a member of the Five Star Gospel Harmonizers. On August 27, 1946, Clifton married Anna Lou Ingle. They were married for 68 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was employed with Anheuser-Busch and the Metropolitan Housing Authority prior to his retirement in 1995. Preceded in death by his son Jack Ingle, mother Beatrice James Parker, father William T. Parker, brother Herman D. Parker, and grandmother Rosa Johnson. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his wife of 68 years, Anna Lou Parker; five sons, Clifton James Parker, Jr., Harold (Felecia) Parker, Lorenzo Parker and John (Berzette) Neal; four daughters, Rosanna Muse-Duffy (Franklyn), Mary (Percy) Ayers, Betty Jo (Jeffrey) Butler, Carol Parker-Carter (Glenn); 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of family and friends.
