Constance Yvonne Diggs

CONSTANCE YVONNE DIGGS was born Wednesday, May 31, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio. She was the daughter of Everett Louis Fisher and Esther Margaret Sawyer Fisher. Connie, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a 1979 graduate of Mifflin High School. She furthered her education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Capital University. She was employed with Columbus City Schools as an Intervention Aid. Connie had a great love for her Lord and Savior, her husband, family, and grandchildren. She was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Associate Minister, worship warrior, and choir member. Connie met no strangers. She greeted you with an infectious smile and a warm hug. She had a big heart overflowing with love. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were her heartbeat. Connie and her husband, Tom, were inseparable. He lovingly referred to her as “My Connie.” Constance Y. Diggs, age 59, was called from labor to eternal rest on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Sawyer. Loving memories are cherished by the love of her life and husband of 33 years, Thomas J. Diggs; children, Jerome E. (Jamaica Galloway, fiancée) Fisher and Thomas Robinson; grandsons, Antwan Goings, Jerome E. Fisher II, and Jeron Fisher; granddaughters, Deandre Wilson, Brianna Green, Brooklyn Fisher, Brittany Fisher, Erynn Bland, Jenyia Fisher, Tranyia Wilson, and JerRyiah Royalty Fisher; great grandsons, Quay Wilson and Dre Wilson; great granddaughter, Anyia Green; sisters, Stephanie Sawyer and Anitra R. (Richard) Charles; brother, Eric L. Fisher; mother-in-law, Margery A. Wilkins; brothers-in-law, Robert H. (Gloria) Diggs Jr. and Brian C. (Tonya) Diggs; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
