Cornelia Holmes Walker

November 30, 1934 — July 12, 2014

Cornelia Midge (Holmes) Walker was born November 30, 1934, to James and Pauline Brown in Elizabethton, Tennessee. In 1941, her family moved to Columbus, Ohio where she received her education in the public school system. Midge attended The Ohio State University for a brief time, after which, she began a career with the federal government. After more than 36 years of dedicated service, she retired from the former Defense Construction Supply Center (now known as DSCC) in 1989. A lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Midge united with the body of Christ as a young girl on Easter Sunday in 1945. Through the years, she remained an active disciple of the church and served in various capacities as a member of the Junior Choir, Chancel Choir, Mass Choir, Assistant Treasurer of the church, and most recently as a current member of the Trustee Board. She was united in marriage to Thomas S. Holmes in August 1955 and, to this union, one child, Thomas Tony Holmes, was born. She greatly loved Tony and, in turn, he was an ever loving and devoted son.
