Cornelius Moore Jr

Cornelius Calvin Moore, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on the 15th of November 2024 at his home in Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 30, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to Beatrice Carroll Moore and Cornelius C. Moore, Sr.

Calvin graduated from North High School in 1953 where he was on the basketball and baseball teams. He retired from the Columbus City School System and Westinghouse Factory with over 30 years of service. He started C. Moore and Son Trash Removal with his dad and successfully ran the business until he retired in 2023. He was a dedicated member of Bethany Baptist Church for over 77 years. He served as the treasurer of Sunday School and on the trustee board. He sang in the choir for over 50 years, and participated in numerous activities ran by the church to support the community. He inspired numerous people throughout the Columbus community and was greatly respected by so many business minded individuals.

Calvin loved people and always helped family and friends in need. He was a devoted husband and father and never allowed his family to go without. He enjoyed traveling, a good Ohio State or Browns game, and driving a well-made car. Some of the most cherished moments of his life were watching his children excel in track and football.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Carroll Moore and Cornelius C. Moore, Sr., children, Keith Vaughn Moore and Roslyn Renee Moore, and great-grandchild, Nora D. Winslow.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Vivian Moore, daughters: Chavela Moore(Ardis) and Cecilia Moore, grandchildren: Calvin Jackson, Nicholas Winslow (NaTasha), Ashley Singh (Balvinder), and Robert Dotson, great-grandchildren: Anthony Winslow, Elijah Banks, Emoni Talley, Bella Singh, Vincent Talley, Armani Talley, Amari Singh, Balvinder Singh, Jerimiah Singh, sisters: Josie Moore and Linda Moore, brother: Lawrence Moore, beloved cousin: Joe Moore, and many other relatives and friends.

Calvin, thank you for giving me and the children a good life and loving memories. Your presence is already greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Bethany Baptist Church, 959 Bulen Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43206. Burial will process to Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
