Mrs. Creasie A. Holton left her earthly home to join the lord in his heavenly home at her daughter's Residence (Gloria Hampton) on February 22nd, 2024. Creasie entered this world on January 25, 1929, to the union of the late Isaiah and Mary Taylor. She grew up in Troy Alabama and was the second oldest amongst 3 brothers. Mrs. Holton accepted Christ into her life at an early age, and was a proud graduate from Alabama State University out of Montgomery, Alabama.
After graduating from school, Mrs. Creasie Holton met the love of her life the late Peter Holton. Then they moved to Ohio, where they raised their 5 daughters. Mrs. Creasie Holton was known for her hard work ethic, establishing several job roles at The Ohio State University. She was a cook, then moved to work in the Hospital as an Elevator Operator Supervisor. Then later moving to the Student Union as a Supervisor. Then later moving to the Student Union as a supervisor. She served 30+ years of service officially retiring from The Ohio State University.
Mrs. Creasie is known for her long role as a member of other houses and International Free and Accepted Modern Manson Inc. and Order of the Eastern Stars servicing under the Annie R. Courtney #232 Chapter where she put in over 40+ years of service. Mrs. Holton received several awards for her outstanding work. The Umoya Staff presented her with an Appreciation Award for her outstanding Contribution to the African Community in 1993. The in 1994 was given the Untied Black World Month Council. Mrs. Holton loved the Lord and dedicated several years of Service at her Church St. Mark A.M.E Church where she had several roles. She was President of the Usher Board, Missionary Coordinator, Hospitality Service, Stewardess Trustee, and was active in the Choir.
Preceding her into Eternity are her parents Thomas Taylor, and Mary Taylor. Her three brothers Bob (Robert) Taylor, Thomas Taylor, and Ezell Taylor, Three son-in-laws Arthur Wynn, Victor Hampton, and Sam Moore, and One Great-Grand Child Tyrone (Tj) Wynn. She leaves to cherish her 5 daughters Carloe Moore, Belinda Wynn, Christine (Talton 'Bro") Williams, Janice (Tony) Marable, and Gloria Hampton. A host of nieces and nephews: Darzel, Janice, Joyce, Robert, Dale, Barbara, Kenny, Louise, Shearise and Becky. Eight grandchildren: Aruther (Tony), Tyrone, Poochie, Aeon (Big D), Victoria, Angelo, Antonio, Da'Shawn, and Vincent, 29 great-grandkids, and five great-great grandkids.
Visitation will be held on March 6, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following at 480 Trevitt St, Columbus, OH 43203. Burial will process to Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus - Ohio.
