Our beloved Crystal Crews took her flight into glory on October 2, 2013 at the age of 52 years. She was born July 19, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, to the union of the late Luther Hayden, Jr. and Betty (Flack) Crews. Crystal attended Marion Franklin High School. She grew up in the Southfield Community where she worked as a Health Care aide for many years. She loved traveling, shopping for purses and shoes, and talking on the telephone. She spent quality time with daughter, Muffy, as well as her nieces and nephews. Family gatherings at Thanksgiving was her favorite time of the year. In 1982, Crystal united in fellowship with the Manujothi Ashram, under the spiritual guidance of Paulaseer Lawrie Muthukrishna. She is preceded in death by father and mother; Luther Hayden Jr and Betty (Flack) Crews, and brother; Freddie Nelson Crews. A special memory of Penny Denise Carpenter who predeceased her by four days. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter Judeah Russell of Columbus, Ohio; brother Harmon Crews of Columbus; sisters, Linda Wood and Shirlene Phillips, both of Columbus, and Brenda Jones of Henderson, North Carolina; uncle James Lewis Crews of Rutherfordton; aunts, Madge Flack of Rutherfordton, and Louise Lindsey of Columbus; nephews, Larry Crews (Yolinda Moore), Tyran Wood, Cameron Crews, Tywon Jones and Decedrick Phillips; niece Carmella Kumar; and a host of great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. She was overjoyed in anticipation of the soon-to-be arrival of her grandson (Murali Krishna Gideon Williams).
