Curtis Wayne Booker

Curtis “Cool Curt” Wayne Booker, 58, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 surrounded by his family after a long battle of illness. Curtis was born October 14, 1960 to James Allen Booker Jr. and Eddie Ruth Booker. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where he attended East High School. In 1981, Curtis moved to Rowland Heights, California where we worked at Weinerschnitzel and Olive Garden doing what he loved most, cooking. In 1989, he moved back to Columbus and returned to the food industry. He began working for Sodexo and held a position as a short order cook with Nationwide Insurance until 2003. At that time, Curtis was asked if he would move back to California to help his Uncle David care for his sick Aunt Ida Mae. He selflessly packed up and moved to offer his assistance. He cared for his aunt until she passed in 2005. Shortly after his aunts passing, he went back to cooking and was employed with Lucille Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. In 2006, Curtis learned of his own illness (mouth cancer) and he moved back to Columbus where he remained until his death. Curtis loved to listen to music, cook, laugh and crack jokes. He enjoyed showing off his unique dancing skills with his neck and head. Whenever there was an event or family function, if Curtis was able to attend, he was there. He absolutely loved being around his friends and family! Curtis is preceded in death by his father James Allen Booker Jr. and mother Eddie Ruth Booker. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter Anitra Bradley of Columbus Ohio and son Curtis (Aundria) Bradley of Battle Creek, Michigan; nine grandchildren: Samya, Arianna, Jamarion, Anyrah, Nevaeh, Curtis, Cordae, Coron and Nylah; four brothers: James Booker, Terry Booker, Tyrone Booker and Anthony Booker (Shayne Nelson); three sisters: Antoinette (Shawn) Reeves, Selena Booker (Tyrone Webb), and Jamia Booker all of Columbus, Ohio; an uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends!
