Curtis Whitney, 51, was born July 7, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 peacefully in his sleep. He was a graduate of East High School. He served in the U.S. Army and as a National Guard. Curtis was a D.J. and loved music and making music tapes for his family and friends. Curtis was a “Jack of all trades” and would willingly help his family and friends with any project that they needed around their home. Curtis loved his family and was devoted to his children, mother, siblings and many nieces and nephews. Curtis was preceded in death by his father Arliss Whitney, Sr.; sister Victoria Marie Whitney; uncles and aunts Otis and Helen Whitney and Eddie and Marie Nixon. He leaves to cherish his memory mother, Mary (Bill) Dobbins; sons, Curtis (Jasmine), Ryan (Lisa), Curmar, Curwan; daughters, Latasha, Danielle and Shirrmar; sisters, Julie Whitney Scott, Lady Maria Whitney; brother, Arliss Whitney, Jr. other relatives and friends.
