Daisy Bell Fortune

Daisy Bell Fortune was born on February 12, 1927 in Greenwood, South Carolina. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Zusman House. Until illness overtook her, Daisy devoted her life to caring for and serving others. She retired from Columbus Developmental Center, State of Ohio, after working many years as a hospital aid supervisor. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, and a faithful member of Christ Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and as a part of the Nurses Ministry. She was an avid Buckeye Football fan and one of her greatest joys was attending The Ohio State University football games. Daisy is preceded in death by her father Weston Fortune, mother Elizabeth Spivey, and brothers Earnest and Willie B. Fortune. She leaves to celebrate her life, daughters Brenda E. (Harold) Jones and Kay Frances Fortune; son Richard Wilson (Choice) Fortune; grandchildren, Shanya (Marcus) Powell, Evelyn Owens, Nakisha Bowman, Richard Fortune, Jr., Natasha Bowman, and Quiana Brickerson; ten great grandchildren; devoted friends Jeff and Anita Grossman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
