Daisy Wilson

On the morning of February 5, 2024, Daisy Ruth Allen, 93 went home to be with her Lord and Savior with her beloved daughter, Anna Jones by her side.

Daisy was born March 2, 1931, to Dallas Rance Allen and Daisy Ruth Allen in Columbus, Ohio. She gave her life to Christ at an early age, and then later in life she attended Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was re-baptized in 2017.

Daisy united in marriage to John Lawrence Wilson Sr. on July 21, 1950, and to that union was born John Lawrence Wilson, Jr., James Randoph “Randy” Wilson, and Anna Louise Wilson.

In her lifetime, Daisy loved gardening, cooking, bowling, and putting together puzzles that she hung on her walls. As a cook she worked at the Food Kitchen and Greyhound Bus Station. Earlier she also worked at the Cream Cone Company. Daisy also enjoyed working at the Election Polls every year. She enjoyed traveling to Roanoke Virginia to visit her husband’s family.

Education was important to Daisy, and she always encouraged her grandchildren to complete school and college. She even offered money as an incentive to get good grades to encourage them to stay focused to excel in school and life.

Preceded in death are her husband of 27 years, John L. Wilson Sr (Dec. 23, 1977), son, James R. Wilson (Feb. 11, 2004), grand-daughter, Helen L Wilson (Nov. 4, 1978); as well as sisters, Mildred Mapp, Ola Bibb, and Ruby Williams; brothers, Marshall Allen, Dallas Allen, Rev. Calvin Allen, Rev. Carl Allen, Leroy Allen, and Joseph Allen; sisters-in-law, Susan Wilson; brothers-in-law, Robert Wilson, Albert Wilson, Paul Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her memories children, John L. Wilson Jr. and Anna L. Jones; sisters, family Gracie McBroom, and Deborah Western; grandchildren, Ebonie (John) Banks; LaTasha (Brian) Butts; John (Kristen) Wilson III; Kamika (Michael) Sharp; Julius (Sarah) Wilson; Tamara (James) Chappell; Amanda Wilson and Taza Clark; along with 24 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Rhema Christian Center 2100 Agler Rd, Columbus, OH 43224. Burial will follow in procession to Green Lawn Cemetery - Columbus, Ohio.
