Darryl Whittner Wallace born March 30, 1958 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his Columbus residence after courageously battling an extended illness. Darryl was the youngest of six children and was often affectionately referred to as Baby Darryl. He was the joker of the family - always smiling, laughing, and telling jokes. An avid dog lover and sports fan, Darryl played semi-pro football after graduating from high school. He also graduated from several trade schools, where he received specialized training and certifications in numerous vocations including computer technology. A very loving, caring son, father, brother, and uncle, Darryl played a very special part in the lives of each and every one of his loved ones. He was the best father in the world to his one and only child whom he raised as a single parent from the time she was just one year old; and, he loved being the fun uncle who proudly answered to the nickname, The Famous Uncle Darryl, bestowed upon him by his nieces and nephews. Darryl was preceded in death by his father Julius M. Wallace, uncle James W. Thomas, and aunt Helen Price. Those who remain to cherish memories of his bright smile and fun-loving spirit include his daughter Qadirah M. Wallace; mother Aliyah A. Raafi; sister Sharon E. Williams; brothers, Ronson E. (Jeanette) Berry, Azzizz-Qahhaar (Nura) Raafi, Lewis A. (Joyce) Price, and Barry B. Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and –nephews, other relatives and friends.
