David Carnes

David Carnes was born July 24, 1936 in Jenkinjones, West Virginia. He was a 1954 graduate of Gary District High School, in Gary, West Virginia, where he was a star basketball player. David later resided in Anawalt, West Virginia. A proud veteran of the United States Armed Forces, David enlisted in the regular Army in 1959 and was honorably discharged, in 1962, at Ft. Lewis, Washington (just outside of Tacoma). He then returned to Columbus, Ohio where he was a longtime of employee of Federal Glass before his retirement in 1998. David enjoyed fishing and watching basketball in his sparetime. On Thursday, September 6, 2018, David Carnes passed away while at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Nina B. Mosby Stiger, father Giles Carnes, and grandparents, Mamie and James Mosby. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Michael (Melissa) Ridley of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David Carnes, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; special cousin Priscilla Mosby, and a host of grandsons, other relatives and friends.
