David Norris

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Glenn Norris, who left this world on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 65. A lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, David was born on April 27, 1959, in this vibrant city that he always called home.

David was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He proudly devoted his life to his family and is survived by his children, Daquan Tyson, Davida Norris, and Demetrius Bynum, who will carry forward his legacy of love and strength.

His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Daquan Tyson Jr., Temani Ali, Daiaun Tyson, Daylin Tyson, Jackey Bowers Jr., Meadow Bowers, Echo Bowers, Demetrius Bynum Jr., Amyah Bynum, Nyla Bynum, and Moriah Bynum, who will forever hold in their hearts the lessons and love their grandfather imparted.

David is mourned by his siblings, Darrell Norris and his son Davon Norris, William Hunter, and Glynda Ervine. He will also be fondly remembered by his cousins, Janice Spruiel, Timothy Spruiel, Richard McKinney, and his sons Devin and Darren. His aunts, Nona McKinney and Eloise Norris, held special places in his heart, providing guidance and comfort throughout his life.

A visitation will be held at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service in Columbus, OH, on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of David before a funeral service that will follow from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the same location. Arrangements are entrusted to Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service.

David Norris was a beacon of light, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. His presence will be greatly missed, but his spirit will remain alive through the countless lives he touched. As we remember David, let us honor him by continuing to live with the love and generosity he showed each of us.
