David R. Jones, of Columbus, Ohio, transitioned from this life on Saturday, October 16, 2010 after a brief illness at the Grant Medical Center. Born December 17, 1919 in Newcastle, PA to the late George A. and Mattie Hazel Jones. A veteran of the US Army Air Force, serving in World War II, and retiree of Columbus Auto Parts, with 25 years of service. Predeceased by brother, George Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Ruth Jones; daughters Beverly (Charles) Kimball, of Detroit, MI; Cheryl Matthews and Tracey Jones of Columbus; son, Gary (Sharon) Jones, of Columbus, OH; sisters, Lucy Ebenezer, Dolores (William) Reid, Hazel Palms all of Akron, OH; 11grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Kerll King of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Hattie Jones of Hampton, VA; Margie King, Barbara Allen and Mabel King, all of Columbus; a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends, including longtime friend Clifford Tyree. Homegoing service 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Reeb-Hosack Community Baptist Church, 258 Hosack Street, Columbus, OH, Pastor John S. Little, eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church Friday, 12:00 noon until the start of service. Interment in Arlington Field of Honor, Canal Winchester, OH
