David W. Bretz was born September 8, 1939, in Columbus, to the late William and Virginia Bretz. He experienced a great childhood. He was a graduate of North High School, class of 58 and often spoke of the good times at North. He retired from the State of Ohio as Chief of Budget Time and Cost, Bureau of Employment Services after 27 years. He was later employed by the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He loved music of all genres and owned hundreds of records and many instruments. He enjoyed the outdoor life, including camping, golf, boating, fishing, and most of all, travel. He had visited most of the fifty states. David was a loving father and husband who was devoted to his family. They were his life! On November 18, 2015, at the age of 76, David departed this life. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Margaret Barton, and brother-in-law Lamont Barton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Norzetta. They were a special couple, way before their time. Their love affair was special and lasted for 54 wonderful years. Also left to cherish his life, are his four children, Natalie Y. LeRoy (Tony), Michael W. (Vicky), Kevin C. (Angie), Kimberly R. Henghold (Mitch); eleven loving grandchildren, Michael Terrell Bretz, Vivian Bretz, Shane Toler, Ashlee Taylor, Trentin Bretz, Tony Leroy, Bryce Leroy, Cassidy Henghold, Alexa Henghold, Brooke Henghold, and Jordan Henghold; one great grandchild Amaiya Johnson; two brothers, Bob and Jerry Bretz; sister Barbara Puppel; sister-in-law Michelle Sutton (Roy); nieces, Erica and Faith Sutton, Cameron and Jordan Barton; lifelong friends, Phil Brodt, Norman Brown, and Wiley Bates; and many other loving family and friends.
