Deborah Marlene Wakefield went to meet the Lord on Friday, October 12, 2012. Deborah, affectionately known as “Deb”, was born on June 14, 1959 to Albert Juanita (Hale) Wakefield, as the eighth of nine children born of this union. Deb had a strong aptitude for mathematics. She graduated from Columbus East High School in 1977. In 1981, she received her B.S. in Accounting from Urbana University. Deb was a long-time accounting employee of Bank One (Chase) and later, Schottenstein’s. Deb was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Ethel Hale; paternal grandmother, Bertha Phillips; parents, Albert and Juanita (Hale) Wakefield; sisters Norma Wakefield Scales, Patricia and Brenda Wakefield; brothers Patrick, Bernard and Thurman Wakefield and nephew/brother, Donald Scales, Jr. She leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory, niece/sister, Syretta Scales; sister, Tei Y. Street; adopted sister, Timberly Leffler; brothers, Albert “Skip” (Janice) Wakefield, Jr., Kenneth L. Wakefield and Lawrence Wakefield; adopted brother, Carl Rectenwald; aunts, Marion Scales and Theresa (Alvin) Street; uncles Henry (Annette) Hale, Herbert Hale, Sr., Roger (Phyllis) Hale; special nephews, Jeffrey Scales and Richard Wakefield; nieces, Deneshia, Tameka, Brenna, Adrienne, Brittany and Asia Wakefield, Tina Radford, Kennetta Dowdell, Tiffany Savannah and Danielle Edmons; nephews, Tony, Lamar, Michael, Brendan, Christopher, Tyquan Wakefield, Christopher Street and Stanley Strong and a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
