Delores Mayberry

Delores Mayberry was born November 19, 1930, to Nora Mae and Willie Crompton. She was the beloved stepdaughter of George L. Hicks Sr. She married Robert C Mayberry in 1947, and they were the proud parents of 5 daughters. Delores transitioned to be with God on March 26, 2020. Mrs Mayberry dedicated her life to Christ at the Church of Christ of Apostolic Faith in 1959. She was a founding member at New Covenant Believers’ Church (NCBC) where she taught Sunday school and served in several ministries including Women of Purposes Prayer Group, the Widower’s group, and the Beacons of Light nursing home ministry. She loved everyone at NCBC where she served and worship for over 25 years. She was known for her kind spirit and willingness to share with anyone in need. She worked for Life Care Alliance, Western Electric and also owned a commercial cleaning company with her husband until his retirement. Delores is predeceased by her parents Nora Mae and stepfather George L Hicks, her father Willie Crompton, husband Robert Mayberry, daughter Wanda, sister Jeannette Simons, brother George Hicks Jr, son-in-law Larry Godfrey, great granddaughter Summer Godfrey, and brother-in-law Albert Stewart. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Jacquelyn (Danny) Hilton, Yvonne (Donald) Taylor, Jamecia Little, and Robin Lipscomb, sister Norma Stewart, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
