Desma Lee Thomas

Desma Thomas, age 84, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, in her home on November 13, 2010. She was born April 13, 1926 in Ward, Alabama to John Saunders Tidmore and Lessie Nettles Tidmore, the third of ten children. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Lessie Tidmore; siblings, Thelma Delaine, Mary Kay Bates, Muriel Montgomery, Martha Scott, Vinnie Snodgrass, and Sam Tidmore. Desma was a charter member of the Rock of Faith Baptist Church, serving for 35 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Calvin Thomas, Sr.; children, Deborah (Van) Chambers, Calvin (Valerie) Thomas, Jr., Kerry (Retta) Thomas, Sr.; Kevin (Carol) Thomas, Sr.; Denise (Tony) Rodriguez, and Dorothy (Carl) Diggs. She is also survived by her sisters, Juanita Rickman and Jeanette Riley, a brother, Jimmy Tidmore; 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and church family, who loved and adored her.
