Dollie M. Jones

Dollie Jones was born on April 19, 1940 to Myers and Willie Mae Poole in Columbus, Mississippi. She graduated from Hunt High School in 1960. In 1960, Dollie married Vernon Jones, and to this union three children were born, Veronica, Lora, and Rodney. After twenty-nine years, Dollie retired from Shottenstein’s South Department Store. In her spare time she loved to crochet, one year she made 100 hats that were given to the homeless. She was very active in church, were she served as past President and Coordinator of the Ladies Usher Board. Dollie was predeceased by her husband Vernon, daughter Veronica, and parents Myers and Willie Mae, sister Carletta, brothers, Myers Jr. and Wardell, and granddaughters Markisha and Lia. She leaves to cherish her memory children, Lora King and Rodney Jones; grandchildren, Mark II, Demetrius, Rakisha and Chandler; special grandson, Dar’Vern; seven great grandchildren; special brother-in-law, Johnnie Will Harris; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; special friend, neighbor and walking buddy, Alberta Hall; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
