Donald Mason

DONALD MASON, SR. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday, June 22, 1947. He was the son of Walter Mason and Lelia Mae Goins. Don, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a high school graduate and was pursuing a bachelor’s degree. He was baptized in the Seventh-day Adventist faith in 2004, when he united with Hilltop Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Donald was employed at Eddie Bauer Warehouse as a Fulfillment Associate. He retired in the mid-nineties. Donald was an avid golfer and was an exceptional, accomplished chess player. Don enjoyed a good debate and was known to be quite the history buff. Don had been a resident of Columbus, Ohio for approximately twenty years. He loved to spend time with family and friends.

Blessed with seventy-five years of life, our beloved Donald Mason, Sr. entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Don was preceded in death by his father, Walter Mason; mother, Lelia Mae Goins; and sisters, Clarence Ella Williams and Cheryl Elaine Williams.

Loving memories are cherished by his sons, Donald (Ganesha) Mason Jr. of Haughton, Louisiana and Devalas Mason; granddaughters, Kamiya Lashay Mason and Ava Olivia Grace Mason; brother, Clarence Williams; sisters, Patsy Williams, Joann Odenwald, Barbara (Neil) Bogan, Jacqueline Williams; a host of other family members, and dear friends.
