Donna J. Woods

Donna J. Woods was born on March 10, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio and was the eldest of 3 children and she had a very small local family. She was the life of every situation and loved music, dancing, playing cards and having a good time. Food was a huge part of her life. She loved to cook and loved to feed her family and all their friends. She was an outstanding baker and every meal or dessert prepared was sheer perfection, the presentation so beautiful you wouldn't want to ruin it by eating it. She was a people person who had never met a stranger and was able to relate to most anyone she ever came in contact with. She had a way of making her home everyone else’s, and treated you like one of the family. She was easy to talk to and was concerned about people and their welfare in general...it didn’t matter who you were, where you were from or what you had done. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She gave them lovable nicknames and would always hug them singing old kids songs like “Baa Baa Black Sheep”. She created a dance for the kids she titled “Wild Thing”. The grand kids really enjoyed it. She enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting and puzzles. It was not unusual to see her creating a thick acrylic blanket in the middle of the summer heat. This, in a nutshell, sums up the life of Donna J. Woods. But it in no way even comes close to scratching the surface of the many wonderful memories we all share of her…SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED! She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Kent and her close friends Darla Bey and Derrick Love. She is survived by her five children, Jarred “Jerry” (Shirlana) Kent, Tarra “Deanna” Kent, Josia “Josie” Kent, Anthony “Tony” Woods and Kawan Woods, Sr.; sister:, Patrice (Farrah) Kent-Ibrahim; brother, Russell (Allison) Kent; niece, Erica Kent; nephew, Travis Kent; 13 grandchildren, Denzel “Ziggy” Kent, Leandra Kent, Jordan Kent, Savonne “Papa” Allen, Taylor Kent, Kyrstin “Key-Key” Kent, Kaylin “Kay-Kay” Kent, Jarren Kent, Sharome Woods, Kawan Woods, Jr., Unique Woods, Josiah “fat baby” Johnson, Ava Thomas; and 3 great-grandchildren, Dezion Kent, DeKenzie Kent and Olivia Kent.
