Donna Evelyn Peoples was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday, July 1, 1942, the daughter of Frank and Pearl Ivory. Donna attended Columbus public schools and graduated from East High School in 1961. Donna married Gene Peoples on September 23, 1962, and to this union three amazing children: Cindy, Juanita, and Gene Jr. were born.
Donna was employed by the State of Ohio and retired from the Department of Taxation with 36 years of faithful dedicated service to the taxpayers of Ohio. Donna believed and trusted in God the Father with all her heart and lived a Christian lifestyle that edified the kingdom of God.
Donna was dedicated and faithful member of the Jerusalem Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and Sunday School teacher. Deaconess Donna served as chairperson of the Pastor’s Aid Ministry and also the Missionary Society Ministry.
Deaconess Donna was a founding member of the Soup Kitchen Ministry that fed the hungry and homeless people in the community on Wednesdays at the church. From the Soup Kitchen Ministry, the Food Pantry Ministry, was and established to provide food, clothing, and toiletry items. The Food Pantry Ministry provided Christmas gifts and love to families in the community known as the “Toy drive”. Deaconess Donna utilized the Soup Kitchen and the Food Pantry Ministries as outreach opportunities to share the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Deaconess Donna dedicated her leisure time to being a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many people. Donna had the sweetest giving spirit and would assist others when she could. Donna enjoyed traveling with her family, listening to music, bowling, crocheting, and watching her favorite movie the “The Temptations,” with her grandchildren.
Our beloved Deaconess Donna entered eternal rest on Friday, November 22, 2024. Donna was preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank Ivory, Sr., and Pearl Ivory; loving husband Gene Peoples, Sr.; brothers, Frank Ivory, Jr., and John Ivory; loving son-in-law, Mark Murray, Sr.; she leaves to cherish her memory her 3 amazing children, Cindy Peoples, Juanita Murray, Gene (Trina) Peoples, Jr.; grandchildren: Alisha Peoples, Robert Graves, Jr., Mark (Angie)Murray, Jr., Lamar Bowers, Terrance Peoples, DeShawn (Nikki) Stallworth); great grandchildren; Xavier Graves, Zavion Graves, DeShawn Stallworth Jr., Alexandra Stallworth; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and dear friends.
