Dora Irene Duckett

Dora Irene Wilson Duckett, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on August 22, 2015. She was born October 14, 1925 on the Rea Farm in Madison County, Ohio. Daughter of Pearl Donald Wilson and Melisa Hutchinson Wilson. Next to youngest of thirteen children. Dora was married to Joe Cecil Duckett for eight years. Joe Duckett died in an automobile accident at the age of 30. She was preceded in death by sisters, Nonnie-Belle Cooper, Madge Jackson, Viola Walker, Laura Wilson, Arzella Herman, Helen Jackson, and Katherine Compton; brothers, Harvey, Eldon, Robert, Clifford, and Leonard Wilson. Dora is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was a Food Service Worker and Assistant Food Service Manager at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. She retired from The Ohio State University in 1981, after 30 years of service. Dora was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church Columbus, Ohio. Her major church emphasis was on the development of young people. She loved to study the world history from a Biblical perspective. She loved to travel internationally to Israel, North Africa and South Africa and enjoyed studying the Greek and Hebrew languages, history, and lands.
