Doris Ilene Jenkins

Doris I. Jenkins, born March 25, 1950, Columbus, Ohio. Died peacefully surrounded by family at Zusman Hospice on Sunday November 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late Charles and Katie Anderson on March 25, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio. She was a graduate of Eastmoor High School and Hocking College. Doris was a RN for 28 years and was retired from the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections after 17 years of service. In her free time Doris enjoyed reading, going to the park and enjoying the scenery, cooking, driving, and spending time with her family. She leaves behind children Shawn (Melanie) and Shoshaughna Jenkins, sisters Donna (Emory) Shephard, Brenda Willis, and Judy Thomas, niece and nephew Ursula and Emory (Stacy) Shephard, and a host of great nieces and nephews and cousins. Always willing to lend a helping hand to her family and friends in need, Doris’ compassion and humor will be truly missed by all who knew her.
