Dorothy Jane Bell

Dorothy Jane Bell, was born June 17, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to Joseph W. Lyman and Esther (Bronson) Lyman. Dorothy attended East High School, participating in the band and graduated 1948. Dorothy attended Ohio State University and began to pursue her career in real estate. Dorothy married the late Attorney Napoleon Arthur Bell on May 5, 1956. They resided in Columbus, building a home, raising their family, as well as being involved in the community. Dorothy and Napoleon traveled the world together and remained married until his death in 2012. Dorothy successfully sold real estate with HER Reality for over three decades. Dorothy was an active member of the Twigs, the Circle-Lets, and was one of the founding members of the Links, Inc. Twin Rivers Chapter. Dorothy also was actively involved in The Carrousels, Inc., holding many offices and was honored to be the 2005 -2007 National President. Dorothy and Napoleon relocated to Henderson, Nevada in 1997 to enjoy many years of hosting family and friends in their home, continuing to travel, and remaining active in the community. They both returned to Columbus in 2012 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Dorothy died of natural causes on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Dorothy was proceeded in death by her father, Joseph W, Lyman; her mother Esther C. Lyman; her sisters, Malcoma Sunderland, Kathleen Payne, Constance Lyman; her brothers Joseph Lyman and Eugene Lyman. Many loving memories are cherished by her daughter, Kayethel B. Mason (Vincent); her son Napoleon Arthur Bell II (Antoinette); grandchildren Leah Kay Bell, Mycah Renee Mason, Napoleon (Nate) Bell III, Gabrielle Elizabeth Mason, Joe Louis Teague III and Christopher MikeanTeague. She was also loved by her sister in law, Loraine Lyman; daughter in law, Jane Friend Bell; close friend, James Pyant; numerous loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, extended family and friends.
