Dorothy Lee (Wright) Taylor

Dorothy Lee Taylor, 78, of Columbus, Ohio, unexpectedly passed on Monday, October 17, 2016 and went home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her father, Nebuchadnezzar Wright, mother, Martha Grimes, husband, Ronald Leon Taylor Sr., and sons Ronald Leon Taylor Jr. and Robert Taylor. She is survived by her brother, Cornelius (Les) Wright, son, Michael (Belinda) Wright, daughter, Kim Hicks, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born on March 22, 1938 in Covington, Georgia. In her youth, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and attended East High School. She joined Union Grove Baptist Church in the seventies and was baptized under the late Reverend Phale D. Hale. Dorothy had a heart that loved and served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church for over forty-five years. She participated in many ministries such as The Missionary Society, Bread of Life, Usher Board, Bible Study, Sunday School, Singles with Purpose and Least of These. Not only could you find her serving within the church, but she believed in a church without walls as well. Whenever there was a need that needed to be filled, Dorothy would step up. She would feed the homeless, check on the sick and shut-in, and shop for children during the Christmas season whose parents were incarcerated. She will be remembered as a woman who was always available when you needed her. She cared about the people in her life and made time for them when it mattered most. She will be missed by many, and the memories made with her will be cherished forever.
