Doshia Lee Scott

November 27, 1929 — August 25, 2018

Doshia Lee Wilder-Scott, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 25, 2018 after a tough battle with Alzheimer's disease. She will join her beloved husband, Paul Scott, son, Michael, parents, Arvella and Susie Wilder and siblings, Rosie, Louisa and Henry in Heaven. Born in Kosciusko Mississippi, Doshia moved to Columbus Ohio at the age of 16. She married Paul on Valentines Day in 1948 and they took up residence on Columbus' southside. The Scott Family are members of the Hosack Street Baptist Church, where they started The Michael Scott Memorial Fund, which lasted for many years, providing financial assistance for families in need in their community. In the 1970s, Paul and Doshia became the owner/operators of the Long & 17th Building Corp. The corporation included a corner store, beauty shop and Cynthia's Floral Shop. Doshia embraced being a florist. Creative and successful, Doshia, along with her daughter Paulette, operated Cynthia's for over 25 years. Employing family and locals from the east side community, Cynthia's clients included numerous churches, funeral homes, businesses and everyday people. Doshia leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Cloitee Moss; daughters, Shirley (Vincent) Phillips, Paulette Scott, Lorraine (Albert Kussin) Scott; grandchildren, Andre (Dyonne) Scott, Carla (Trevor) Maher, Carol (Roy) Haynes, Hollie (Jason) Priah, and PJ Kussin; 12 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; longtime friend, Angela Early; and extended family members, Clay Johnson, Monty Perry and Eric Freeman. Our family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Bella Care Hospice, Buckeye Health Care, and Star Health Services for their tender loving care and the Ohio Area Agency on Aging and the Visiting Physicians Association for their care and support during her illness. Special thanks to Vincent Phillips, Doshia's son-in-law, who along with daughter Shirley opened their home to Doshia in 2007 providing exceptional care in a loving home environment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Bella Care Hospice, 2215 Citygate Dr. Suite E, Columbus, OH 43219 and Nationwide Children's Foundation 525 E. Mound St., Columbus, OH 43215
