Eddie Milner Sr

Eddie James Milner, Sr. was born June 22, 1928 to Emma Lillian (Maines) and Eddie Richard Milner in Concord (Pike County), Georgia. He was a graduate of South High School in Columbus, Ohio. A certified Operating Engineer, Eddie worked in the construction field as a heavy equipment operator for over fifty years. He was a member of Mount Carmel Community Baptist Church, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Eddie enjoyed hunting and working on cars. On August 23, 2016, at the age of 88, Eddie J. Milner, Sr. departed this earthly life while at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evangeline O. Milner, sons, Eddie J. Milner, Jr. and Lynn Louis Milner, and brothers Henry and Eugene. Those who remain to cherish memories of Eddie include his children, Alvino R. Milner, Inez E. Milner, Craig (Marilyn) Milner, Hobson E. Milner, and Peggy A. (Oliver Jr.) Hardman; siblings, Lemar (Dorothy) Milner, Impearl (Moses) Carreker, Bessie Craig, and Odessa Thompson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
