Edward Lawrence Berry, Sr., and his twin brother Edwin Herman Berry, Sr. were born in Columbus Ohio on May 24, 1927 to Alfred and Julia Berry. He attended Columbus Public Schools. He retired from Joyce Iron Metal, a construction worker, very creative in building things and even barbering. He was a jack of all trades. Edward was known affectionately by family and friends as Twin-Big Baby. He was well known for cutting hair all over town from the west side, east side, and even in the north end. He would cut their hair on credit wouldn't get paid until the first of the month, this was the type of guy he was. He knew no strangers, but, he was a no-nonsense guy as well; didn't take no mess especially when dealing with his family nor his money. He loved his four sons and would take them everywhere just to show them off. He would always have them stand in stair-steps from the oldest to the youngest. Later on in life he had two daughters that he cherished. As we all know the story of Edwin how he coaxed Edward to go out of the womb first; Edwin, now in the Kingdom of Heaven, welcomed Edward being that Edwin entered in the Kingdom Of God first as Edward entered the earth first. All who knew Edward would say he enjoyed life to the fullest. We thank God for the 85 years of being with us creating memories that we all can cherish forever. Edward was preceded in death by wife, Betty Jean; parents, Alfred Berry and Julia Berry Brooks; siblings, James, Julia, Joseph, Alfred, George, Barbara, Erwin and Daisy. Edward legacy sons: Edward Lawrence Jr. (Karen Renee), Virgil Lee, Steven Dwayne, Mark Anthony, and Tom-Charles Mason (Tyniece); daughters: Angela Marlene and Krista Michelle; grandchildren: Virgil II, Adraine Nicole, Adam Edward L., Victoria Renee, Thalia, Debranne, Leah Michelle, Romeiro Kanye, Khamia Leann and Azayla Michelle; great-grand daughter: Genesis; brothers, William and Othello (Pasty) Berry; sisters-in-law, Greta Berry and Wolena Berry; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
