On Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, Edward ‘Midge’ Burgess, loving brother, father, grandfather passed away at the age of 70. Midge was born on February 8th, 1949 in Columbus, OH to Ervin Stewart and Emma Lee Burgess. He received his business management degree from Columbus Technical Institute (CTI) and worked in Education and Training at Delphi/General Motors, where he later retired. Midge raised three sons, Eric, Brian and Lance, and one daughter, Michelle. He had a love for fashion and the performing arts. As a teenager he sang in a group called The Blenders. He also acted in community theatre with Center Stage Theatre in productions such as “A Raisin In The Sun”, “Zooman” & “The Sign” among several others. He also had a passion for fishing that he shared with his Lake Erie buddies. Midge also had a passion for giving back to his community. He was a polished motivational speaker and shared his gift with Columbus area schools and students. Midge was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Stewart, mother, Emma Lee Burgess, brothers Ed Stewart, Thomas Burgess and Aaron Burgess, and sister Barbara Canty. He is survived by his brothers, Francis (Sonny) Burgess and Ronnie Burgess; four children, Eric (Lynetta), Brian (LaTonga), Lance (Chenai) and Michelle; grandchildren, Evan, Brooke, Makenzee and Lauryn; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
